Ariel Howland is an activist, writer, and public speaker who is also white, pansexual, genderqueer, and a butch trans woman.
She has a BA in Gender Studies from the University of Oregon. Some of her organizing work includes the Trans and/or Women’s Action Camp (TWAC) and two campaigns against hate groups. She has also given speeches at Take Back the Night in Eugene and the Portland Trans Pride March.
Ariel has been published in the Earth First! Journal, Eugene Weekly, Portland Observer, and the zine Not Kidding. She has shared her poetry on the same stage as Cooper Lee Bombardier, Kokumo, and Tobi Hill-Meyer. She lives in the Eugene, Oregon area in Kalapuya territory. She prefers the pronouns they/them/theirs or she/her/hers.
